Responsibilities and Duties

  • Drive a regular route
  • Read and understand street signs, route sheets and maps
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including child checks
  • Assist students in the loading and unloading process; maintain awareness of traffic to help direct students in safely crossing roads
  • Communicate and work effectively with department staff, school personnel, students, parents, and the public
  • Attend all safety and training meetings
  • Conduct emergency evacuations
  • Opens and closes service doors and move up and down steps multiple times daily
  • Maintain a clean bus including sweeping, dusting, and cleaning interior/exterior windows
  • Proper use of radio dispatch equipment
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • A valid Minnesota driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain a valid CDL with proper endorsements
  • Pass a drug test, DOT physical, and background screening

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist a regular SPED route
  • Assist students with loading/unloading; maintain proficiency in the safe operation of securing car seats, booster seats, and seat belts
  • Move or assist in moving students whose mobility is impaired
  • Assist with implementation of individual student plans for appropriate conduct on bus as recommended by bus driver, teacher and/or other staff
  • Demonstrate professional, safe, and responsible behavior
  • Communicate and work effectively with department staff, school personnel, students, parents, and the public
  • Attend safety and training meetings
  • Conduct emergency evacuations
  • Assist in maintaining a clean vehicle
  • Deliver special needs students to appropriate responsible party
  • Maintain proficiency in the safe operation of the hydraulic lift apparatus and securing wheelchairs as applicable
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Pass a drug test and background screening

Physical Requirements

  • Climbing on and off a bus or van, bending and squatting to assist students as needed, sitting for extended periods, walking up and down the bus aisle to check students, seats, and exits, this will require some periods of exposure to elements
  • Capable of assisting and moving students whose mobility is impaired and any student as necessary

Vision supports local school districts by offering trip transportation for school athletic and academic programs.

Driving sports teams to events is a great way to earn some extra money. Set set your own schedule; weekday and weekend trips available.

No experience necessary. PAID training to obtain your CDL and endorsements. We help you every step of the way.

$1,250.00 Sign-On bonus for fully licensed CDL school bus-endorsed drivers with air brakes.
